Where the Wild Things Are

Some people are daredevils and adrenaline junkies. These are the same people that can go on an African safari without visualizing in graphic detail different scenarios where they will be mauled to pieces. And as much as I have wanted to be one of these people, I prefer to increase my odds of living and go to the zoo!

And as these photos suggest, I think these animals are quite content at hanging out in a predator-free habitat, with daily room service and a prime view for people watching!

Lion 2

How often can you look a Lion in the eyes and live to tell the tale?! Isn't he absolutely majestic?

I'm not saying that I want to test my theory out, but this Lion looks downright cuddly! Plus, he's a crooner!

Curled trunk and crossed legs? Why this Elephant is quite dainty!

Did you know that Zebra stripes are like fingerprints? No two Zebras are the same?
And who knew their ears were so adorable?!

Cheetah Prowl

I think this is as close to a safari as I'm going to get!

Little Safari

Okay, well maybe if I wore a safari hat I might feel a little braver!!

All Aboard the Maternity Train!

The weather has warmed up and the trees have been blooming since my maternity session with this lovely couple. In fact, the morning of this shoot was super blustery and frigid! Clare and John braved the chill and we had a fun time shooting around the old train station in Old Town Herndon, VA.

I loved shooting at this location, as it provided a lot of unique scenery in a very small radius. This is a great example of how one outfit and a few accessories, like gloves and a jacket combined with a few different backdrops, can help provide a number of different looks to a photo shoot and keep things from getting dull. I especially love the mural wall that we shot against. Don't Clare and John almost look like they're part of it?
